About the Polly Project
Polly is an Open Source software project designed to manage the chaotic, frenetic data flows found in grass roots political organizations.
We describe Polly as "ERP software for grass roots politics" and that's not far off from the truth. ERP, of course, stands for Enterprise Resource Planning and where as it is the type of software that runs big organizations, Polly is the software that runs grass roots political organizations.
Key Features:
- Event Building: Whether you want to run a rally, a protest, a vigil or a community picnic, Polly has the facilities to build, manage and promote your event.
- Contact Sharing: All the information in your organization is too often locked in the phones of your volunteers. Polly's contact sharing lets anyone in your organization share contacts easily, taking advantage of powerful, political networking features based on President Roosevelt's Farley File concept.
- Flexible Teams: Grass roots politics is about leveraging your volunteers and helping them organize -- the teams facility in Polly supports that.
- Democratic Voting: One of the key tools in Polly lets you get input from your volunteers and engage them in the process by letting them actually vote on, well, almost anything. Considering starting a new project? Why not let the people in your organization vote on it to see what they really think. All too often, it is the person who speaks last or loudest that makes decisions -- why not involve all your people in things.
Our goal is to offer a smooth, secure, and enjoyable user experience, and we’ll continue improving and adding features to make this application even more powerful.
