All Polly Functionality
Listed below are links to all Polly functionality. Not all functionality is fully implemented but just the presence of something gives you a feeling for the breadth of features that Polly includes.
- Availabilities -- Tell us when you ARE or ARE NOT available for an event
- Bank Deposits -- Log bank deposits from sales or fund raising
- Congressional Districts -- See the congressional districts
- Contacts -- Share contacts within your organization
- Events -- Create events for your organization
- Events are made up of one or more slots; a slot is a speaker or a musician or a march
- Track attendance for an event
- Tasks are things that HAVE TO HAPPEN for an event like renting a truck; tasks help the Event Operations Lead make sure things go to plan
- Track volunteers for an event
- Allow anyone to apply for a speaking slot at an event
- Event slots are typed to allow different types of events to be created
- Events can have types like a Protest or a Picnic, etc
- Track your asset / prop library
- Government Officials -- Knowing who your legislators are at the Federal, State and Local level is a key part of our political process. Once we know your state and congressional district, we can connect you with your elected officials.
- Great Chat Messages -- Our chat messages tool lets you capture knowledge from a secure chat system where messages may otherwise be lost
- Meeting Notes -- Meeting Notes are just that -- notes on meetings that you want to be shared and publicly available
- Motions -- Motions are decisions that need to be voted on to reach consensus.
- Musicians -- Musicians are performers at events.
- Offline Promotion Locations -- Promoting an event online is only one way to drive attendance to a protest or rally. Another approach is offline promotion such as fliering cards in parking lots.
- Organizations -- An organization is the top most entity in the system. Indiana 50501 is an organization. So, too, might be Indivisible Indiana. Or, say, the Indianapolis Westside Democrats. (Note that no other organizations save Indiana 50501 use Polly yet).
- Departments -- Departments are top level functions within an organization such as Accounting, Marketing or Security.
- Organization Rules -- This tracks the rules by which an organization governs itself. For example, Indiana 50501 has only one rule: non-violence. Everything else falls to an individual team.
- Organization User Rules -- This tracks what users in the organization agreed to a particular rule.
- Political Actions -- A political action is an outcome you want associated with a political event like "use 5 calls"
- Projects -- Projects are high level goals like "build a stage" or "organize a vigil". In any grass roots organizing, projects tend to pick up steam because a prominent member pushes them. A unique aspect to projects in Polly is people can vote for projects to indicate that they are actually endorsed by the community.
- Rules -- Rules are agreements that people make to govern their conduct in a social context; Polly allows rules to be defined to apply to an organization or a team
- Speakers -- Track speakers for an event
- Speeches -- Publish the speeches for an event
- Teams -- Teams are a collection of users for a given thing
- Team Users -- See the users on a team, what they do, etc
- Team Rules -- See the rules that apply to a team
- Team User Rules -- See what rules the users on a team agreed to
- Users -- The users of an organization
- Vetting Questions -- Vetting questions are questions asked to help ensure alignment of a user with an organization
- Vetting Transcripts -- A vetting transcript is the answers to someone's vetting questions
