Name: Julie Borum

Bio: “Our next speaker is Julie Borum. Julie describes herself as a mindless, sometimes voter until her now-husband introduced her to National Public Radio in 1988. Julie’s husband, Brad, is one of those government employees that Elon and DOGE like to treat as expendable, but have since found to be rather necessary to keep our country functioning. Julie and Brad have three children, one daughter who is now a public education teacher in a poorly-resourced IPS school, a second daughter who is a NICU nurse at Eskenazi Hospital and a son, who among his many accomplishments, started protesting in the Black Lives Matter campaign in 2020 and has been the Editor-in-Chief for Julie’s speech today. Julie has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the field of HIV/AIDS since 1989, most recently for over 11 years in the largest medical clinic in Indiana dedicated to the prevention and treatment of HIV. Her professional experience has afforded her the opportunity to meet, work with and learn from people from many walks of life.”
